The Caribbean Mind & Hormone Clinic brings together professionals committed to improving access to thoughtful, evidence-based care for adults across Barbados and the wider Caribbean. Our team combines clinical expertise with practical support to help individuals better understand and manage their mental health, neurodevelopmental conditions and hormone-related concerns.

Dr. Ayana Gibbs

Consultant Psychiatrist & Medical Director, MBChB, PhD, MRCPsych

​Dr Ayana Gibbs is a medical doctor and Consultant Psychiatrist with over 20 years’ experience in mental health care alongside more recent experience in hormone health. Born in Guyana and raised in Barbados, she later moved to the UK to attend medical school. She trained in general and forensic psychiatry at The Maudsley Hospital, completed her PhD at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London. Alongside her clinical work, she has held academic and research roles, including a Senior Lectureship at the University of Sussex.   Dr Gibbs now divides her time between the UK and Barbados and is committed to improving access to specialist mental health care across the Caribbean. She has a specialist clinical focus on the diagnosis and treatment of adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).  Her clinical approach is holistic, collaborative, and evidence-based. She takes time to understand each individual’s history and context, with a focus on providing clear, personalised recommendations. This may include medication where appropriate, alongside psychological and lifestyle-based strategies.

Brittany Singh Williams, ACC, CALC

ADHD Coach

Brittany is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation and a Certified ADHD Life Coach (CALC) who supports individuals in developing practical strategies for managing attention, organisation and daily routines. She is passionate about helping people rediscover confidence in their learning, work and personal lives.  Brittany holds certification from the International ADHD Training Institute, making her one of the few certified ADHD coaches in the Caribbean. She is also the founder of Spark Education, where she combines her expertise in education consultancy, academic coaching, curriculum development, and leadership development to support individuals with ADHD.  Her academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education and a Master of Science in Global & International Education from Drexel University.

Mpho Mabale

Practice Coordinator

Mpho supports the day-to-day running of the Caribbean Mind & Hormone Clinic and helps ensure that patients have a smooth experience when booking appointments, completing forms and accessing information. She is currently completing an undergraduate degree in Psychology at Nelson Mandela University in South Africa and has a strong interest in mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions. She hopes to pursue a future clinical career in clinical psychology or psychiatry.
